Foundations & Beliefs

God has given indigenous people a unique role in His Kingdom. It is only as the Church in Australia recognises and embraces the contribution of Aboriginal people that it will it fulfill its calling in the world.

The whole earth belongs to God and we are His stewards together in the land. We need to learn God's ways to work together in caring for His land.

Indigenous Leadership needs to be recognised and encouraged. Very few indigenous leaders are seen as having anything worthwhile to contribute to Australia. This attitude continues to rob indigenous people, the church and the whole world of their vital contribution. The body of Christ in Australia will not be complete until it experiences indigenous people exercising their role in their land as prophets, priests and kings.

Jesus gave His life to reconcile us to God and each other.

The body of Christ has a unique calling and mandate in reconciliation. We need to move through the cross of Jesus Christ into reconciliation with God and with each other according to Biblical principles [2 Corinthians 5:18-20; Ephesians 2:14-16, 19]

Without Partnership, the Church is Crippled and Handicapped. During the 1990s, God moved reconciliation into priority across the world. Now the emphasis is turning to real partnership between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples: God longs for us to express and celebrate our unity and diversity together as He has created each to contribute. [1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Romans 12:10; Galatians 3:26-29]

God is releasing and rebuilding communities and nations. This involves teamwork to deal with community issues, education, health, church life, cultural redemption, Christian praise and worship, intercession and spiritual warfare. We need to deal with issues like ignorance and mis-communication as well as sin, power struggles and spiritual bondages in order to build healthy communities and churches.

We need to pray and work together for all this to be real in our nation today.

God is rebuilding nations through indigenous identity and reconciliation in Christ.

Partnership between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians is vitally important in reaching out to those all over the world who don't know Jesus.

When we work together, we complement each other in God's orchestra to bring rich praise to God and then we can share the Gospel effectively with the world.
